Authorities have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in downtown Columbus as Damon Thompson, 22, who was killed Saturday evening in an incident that investigators believe may have been connected to an attempted robbery.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers were dispatched at approximately 6:50 p.m. to the 300 block of South Grant Avenue, near East Mound and South Fifth streets, following reports of a shooting.
