The Cornwall community is in deep mourning following the tragic death of 19-year-old Logan Malone, who lost his life in a devastating one-vehicle crash on Sunday morning, leaving family, friends, and loved ones heartbroken.
According to Cornwall Town Police Chief Joseph Gebert, the fatal crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. on April 19 along Mineral Springs Road. Authorities reported that Malone was driving a 2003 Chevrolet S-10 southbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle left the roadway.
The truck struck a guardrail on the northbound side of the road, continued over the barrier, and plunged down a steep embankment before violently striking a tree. The impact caused catastrophic damage to the vehicle.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, but despite their swift efforts, Logan Malone was pronounced dead at the crash site. The severity of the collision led to fatal injuries, and he succumbed to them before help could reach him.
Police have described the crash as sudden and devastating, emphasizing the violent sequence of events that ultimately claimed Malone’s life. The roadway was secured for several hours as investigators carefully documented the scene and began working to determine the cause of the crash.
