The Richmond community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of 18-year-old Zion Terry, who was tragically killed in a domestic-related shooting early Tuesday morning, April 21, 2026, in the 3100 block of 5th Avenue.

Richmond Police responded to the scene around 9:50 a.m. after receiving reports of a shooting inside the residence. Upon arrival, officers found Terry suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to provide medical assistance, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A Henrico officer was injured during the incident. Nelson has been charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
