The community of St. Cloud is grieving the tragic loss of 22-year-old Cody Strong, who died in a devastating rollover crash Friday afternoon in nearby St. Joseph. The fatal incident has left family, friends, and residents in shock as they come to terms with a life cut short.
According to the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred shortly after 3:00 p.m. in the 7800 block of Mullen Road. A passerby contacted emergency services after discovering a severely damaged vehicle that had overturned, with the driver trapped beneath it. First responders were quickly dispatched to the scene.
Deputies, along with the St. Joseph Police Department and local fire and rescue crews, arrived to find Cody Strong suffering from fatal injuries. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Preliminary findings indicate that Strong was traveling eastbound when he lost control while navigating a curve. Authorities say the vehicle veered into the south ditch, and during an apparent attempt to correct course, crossed the roadway into the north ditch before rolling over.
