A fatal collision on Route 1 in New Brunswick, NJ, has claimed the life of Dennis Frick, 65, of Freehold, after a violent crash near the Morris Goodkind Bridge on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m., when Frick was heading north in his Ford pickup.
Authorities say a southbound Infiniti sedan, driven by an 18-year-old from North Brunswick, lost control, crossing over the median and into Frick’s lane. The impact was devastating, with early reports suggesting the sedan may have even ended up on top of Frick’s truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Miraculously, the driver of the Infiniti escaped the crash without injuries. At this time, no charges have been filed, and investigators are still working to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The aftermath led to the closure of both directions of Route 1 between North Brunswick and Edison for nearly five hours, causing significant traffic delays.
