The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop H has provided an update in the investigation of a tragic double homicide near Skidmore, Missouri. On Saturday, April 18, 2026, the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office called upon the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) to assist with a double homicide investigation at a residence near the intersection of Missouri Highway 46 and Route PP, located north of Skidmore.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two female victims inside the residence, both deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A person of interest was also located at the scene and taken into custody by the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office. One of the victims has been identified as Liberty Ann Moore, while authorities are still working to confirm the identity of the second victim and notify their next of kin.
On April 19, 2026, investigators submitted a probable cause statement to Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney Tina Deiter, which led to the formal charging of 20-year-old Keevin J. Maupin of Skidmore, Missouri. He faces two counts of First-Degree Murder and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. Maupin is currently being held in the Nodaway County Jail without bond.
While the charges have been filed, authorities emphasize that they are allegations at this stage, and the suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Investigators have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to their safety at this time.
