According to the Copiah County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to the 1000 block of Johnsons Lane at approximately 11:40 a.m. on Monday after a distressing call from a family member who discovered Price unresponsive behind a residence. Upon arrival, authorities confirmed that he had sustained a single gunshot wound to the chest. Despite the prompt response of law enforcement and emergency personnel, Price was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff Byron Swilley stated that investigators quickly secured the area and initiated a thorough examination of the scene as part of an ongoing effort to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
